Main Task: Audience Research

I asked 7 people that are aged between 16-25, as that is my targeted age group, and are both Males and Females. I asked them all the same questions. In total I asked 11 questions, which at the end, should give me a clearer view of my Music Magazines.

The questions I asked were:
1. What sex do you prefer in front of a Hip Hop/RnB music magazine?
2. What colours suits a Hip Hop/RnB magazine?
3. What is the maximum price you will pay for a music magazine that attracts you?
4. Would you prefer the magazine to be based on just music or music artists and their lives as well their music?
5. Would you like all genres in the magazine or just Hip Hop/RnB?
6. Would you like magazines with free posters?
7. What type of font would attract you for a music magaiznes name?
8. Do you think the mane PAUSE is good for a music magazine, considering the genre?
9. What name do you think is good for this magazine?
10. What would make the magazine up to date with the music life?
11. What attracts you to a magazine the most?

In conclusion to all those print screens of my conversation, considering in mind that the age group was 16-25 and were both males and females, I noticed that for:

Q1 The majority wanted Females on the front of a music magazine.

Q2 The majority wanted the colours Red, Black, and Gold.

Q3 The majority said they would pay from £3-£5 as the maxiumum

Q4 The majority said that they wanted the magazine based on both the artists life and their music

Q5 The majority only wanted Hip Hop/RnB as the genre of the magazine.

Q6 The majority were happy when hearing about free posters, which means that is a good selling point of ANY magazine

Q7 The majority said the font of the masthead should be big, bold and nothing fancy!

Q8 The majority liked the name PAUSE for a music magazine, however some didnt-which leads to my next question

Q9 Only a few answered this question by giving thier own idea of a suitable name for a magaizne

Q10. The majority answered by saying that the magazine would attract them if they knew the artist and if they are interested in the other topics of the magazine.

Q11 The majority said latest information and latest interviews.

Overall, the audience research has given me a clearer view of the model I am going to chose for the front cover, as well as my masthead and colour schemes.
